Roundhill is a family owned and operated commercial ski area. We pride ourselves in providing an outstanding working environment. Roundhill is the kind of place where you make friends for life.
Our 2020 season runs from June 27th until September 13th with work from June 24th until September 14th. 

Roundhill prides itself on an excellent customer service ethic. We are looking for friendly people with a neat appearance and a can-do attitude. We are a small, close-knit team who work hard and play hard. If this sounds like you we look forward to hearing from you!

All applicants must have the right to work in New Zealand for the duration of our season. The only position we can assist with attaining a work visa is Snowsports School Instructor.

Snowsports Instructor: – All positions filled
NZSIA Ski Level 2 or international equivalent.

Shuttle Driver: – Position filled
We operate a daily shuttle to Roundhiil from Lake Tekapo Village. Applicants must hold a New Zealand Drivers Licence with a Passenger Endorsement. The shuttle departs Tekapo at 8:00am and the Ski Area at 4:15pm. Work during the day can be in the Lifts and/or Rentals Departments.

Operations Assistant: – All positions filled
We are on the lookout for an Operations Assistant to assist the management team with general operations at Roundhill. Areas of work will include but are not limited to: Snowmaking, Lift Maintenance & Operation, Rentals at peak times, and ensuring the Road and Parking is operating correctly. There may also some grooming depending on previous experience. This is a position of responsibility and you will be expected to assist with the supervision of other staff, especially in the lifts and rentals departments. Previous ski area operations experience or a trades/heavy machinery background highly advantageous. Must have references.

Office Attendant: – All positions filled
This position includes selling the full range of lift passes, season passes, rentals and ski school products. Ticket Office Staff are responsible for balancing and processing the banking for all departments on the mountain. You will need excellent communication skills with perfect spoken and written English language skills and you must provide a high level of customer service at all times. This is a very fast paced and varied position, you will need to use initiative and be able to work well under pressure. Previous cash handling experience essential. Flexibility is essential as you may be called upon to work in different departments.

Cafe Attendant: – All positions filled
Duties will include cash handling, order processing, food preparation and ensuring food and beverages are delivered in a timely manner and are of high quality. You are required to maintain stock levels, and ensure the cafe and kitchen are kept clean and tidy. As a cashier, you are responsible for the end of day balancing of your till. You need to be able to communicate well in a variety of situations and to provide a high level of customer service at all times. Previous cafe and cash handling experience is essential, barista experience preferred but training will be given.

Lift Operator: – All positions filled
This position is based outdoors, is physically demanding and involves constant customer interaction. Duties include performing daily maintenance/safety checks, maintaining loading areas, ticket checking, and loading customers onto the lifts. At times you may be required to assist in the rental department. We are looking for people who are able to communicate well in a variety of situations, are neat in appearance, have a positive attitude, are methodical and provide excellent customer service. Full training will be given.

Rental Attendant: – All positions filled
Duties include fitting customers with the appropriate ski, snowboard, and safety equipment, recording all details on rentals forms, performing basic maintenance and ticket checking during quiet times. You need to be able to communicate well in a variety of situations and to provide a high level of customer service at all times. Flexibility is essential as you may be called upon to work in different departments. Full training will be given.

Groomer Operator: – Position filled
We are looking for an experienced groomer operator with at least 2 seasons experience. Must have references and be able to groom some beginner fun-park features as well as slopes for international ski racing teams. This position may be combined with the Operations Assistant position advertised above for the right candidate.

Ski Patroller: – All positions filled
All Applicants must have NZ avalanche level 1 or equivalent as well as first aid qualification of Pre Hospital emergency care or similar, be excellent skiers or boarders and have great customer service skills. A minimum of 2 seasons ski patrolling experience is required. Strong backcountry/touring experience advantageous.

School Holiday Staff: – All positions filled
We require some hard working casual staff to assist us during the July school holiday period. There are positions available in the cafe and equipment rentals.
